Dave earned a BA in Economics at Calvin College and later earned his MBA in Business Management & Supervision at Central Michigan University. Aside from his educational career, Dave was previously a fighter pilot and Lt. Col. within the U.S.A.F and Air National Guard. Spending 26+ years as a military officer Dave has been awarded numerous medals and was a Top Gun award recipient. He is also currently a member of the NRA and a CCW Holder. After his military service, Dave flew for American Airlines for 25 years and retired as a Senior Captain.
Dave and his family believe that family values and community involvement are very important. For 37 years, Dave and Barb have shared their lives together in marriage. He his not only a loving and devoted husband, but a father and grandfather as well having three children and seven grandchildren together. Dave believes that family is not only the most important thing in his life, but the most important unit of American society.
While leading mission trips to Guatemala for Pray America, they feed, house, and support widows and orphaned children. Dave is an active church member serving as Vice President of Sabaoth Ministries. The Grand Rapids ministry helps underprivileged children in literacy and faith based education. Dave previously served for the Ionia jail prison ministry as well and he endorses the Right to Life.
