"The
administration has actively blocked the Legislature from doing
its job of keeping watch over taxpayer money and has flat out
refused to tell us how they are operating programs without any
money," said Agema, R-Grandville. "It's
my job to watch out for taxpayers and track where their tax
dollars are going. I
can't do that when the administration is working to keep that
information from the public eye."
State
Rep. John Proos said a majority of time in the subcommittee on
DHS appropriations is spent seeking transparency by unrolling
budgets in search of answers to questionable costs and
operations.
